This board channels the spirit of surfing’s Golden Age: the revolutionary 1960s and 70s. It has all the features to help you find that sweet spot on the wave, with plenty of width and volume so you can move around on deck and clock up some serious nasal time. Remove the fins and ride backwards… which could really be forwards… it’s all relative flower child.

Love my dead hippie! I’ve tried quite a few different soft boards in my lessons and definitely love the size and feel of this the best! The wax free textured board has a great grip too. And the look and colour is an added bonus.

Love my dead hippie! It rides so smoothly and has received many compliments on the beach as it's SO pretty!! Feels much more stable than other foam boards I've tried, and just generally feels like higher quality - I can see this board lasting a very long time! I really love that it has proper fin boxes too - I've found the plastic fins on most other foam boards split when they're tightened (but if you don't tighten them properly they let a tonne of water in!). A little more expensive than other foam boards on the market, but I think well worth the price for the quality & the reduced environmental impact

Finally tried it today, it’s such a fun board. I’m only learning but was very easy to catch waves and it seems more agile than other boards I’ve tried. From my beginners experience - absolutely love it!

Great looking board feels nice and surfs how I expected, great for myself to take out on a small summers day and my two kids as well , great to learn on. The box turned up a bit beat up but the board was fine inside. The only issue I could find were fin screws were extremely hard to get through to bite down on the fins needing a proper allen key to get through.

Love it! Boards a heap of fun. A good time on small days, took it out in 6ft yesterday and it handled it surprisingly well. I will say the centre fin was so bent out of the box for whatever reason that I replaced them with another set straight away and when it arrived it already had small dings all over the board, the box it came in was pretty beaten up I'm assuming that's the couriers fault though. Cheers

Good board overall, nice shape, design and big percentage of recycled plastic used for it. The finishes in the fin boxes could be better. The recycled plastic fins are very average, middle fin came with a weird shape.

Love it! As a wannabe surfer chick, I bought this board based on the aesthetic and sustainability credentials. The board is so fun and even as a complete amateur I managed to stand up on my first wave! Love that it is made of recycled materials but also looks great. Addicted. I’m addicted to my Dead Hippie. I’ve been surfing most of my life. But had back surgery this year and have struggled to load, carry and surf on my much loved 9ft Mal. I did my research and bought the 7ft Dead Hippie. Love it so much. Catches everything. Turns beautifully. So much fun. Strap it to the side of my Vespa and take it to Manly every morning.

Love it- great for beginners! I am definitely a novice/beginner surfer and managed to get up on my first day in whitewater. My friend bought a softlite board and although both boards are great, we both agreed that the larger width of the dead hippy was easier for stability. Caught my first baby green wave this weekend on it. Really happy, would recommend!

Fun Board I’m a beginner and this board is great fun to use and easy to get up on. I have no fear of the board getting damaged or hurting me when I fall off and it is usable in any surf. Definitely worth the money considering the minimal environmental impact it has.

Super fun board.. easy paddling gets heaps of speed in small waves and on fat high tide waves the DH flys through flat sections & turns were you want to put it...Perfect summer shred sled.

a stoked Dead Hippie Really nice board to use. Lot of volume. Efficient delivery etc. Pity there was so much plastic packing but I guess all boards are sent that way. Hope SK make a 6ft6in. Would recommend the boards without reservation assuming you can afford to pay a little more. well done SK!! Hope you can use even more recycled material
